Hasmukh Adhia, Revenue Secretary, Sushil Kumar Modi, Bihar Deputy CM, Thomas Isaac, Kerala FM, Amar Agarwal, Commercial Taxes Minister of Chhattisgarh, Krishna Byregowda, Agri Minister of Karnataka, Etela Rajendar, Telangana FM, Pravin Rao, Interim CEO of Infosys, Raghupati Cavale, Head-India Business of Infosys, DN Prahlad, Independent Director of Infosys were present at the meeting. It's not like there have been mass scale failures by them.

The glitches in the network will also compound filing the returns, as the GST portal will not be able to cope with the load on the system if traders rush to file at the last minute.

After deliberations, the committee took decisions allowing the assessees to edit GSTR-3B and deputing two engineers each from the service provider Infosys to all States in a week's time to coordinate with the State officers for resolving IT issues faced by the tax payers. We have decided a plan of action. "The attempt was to work around the difficulties to eliminate problems, leading to better understanding of all stakeholders", he added. The TS also emphasised that the data pertaining to the State, especially on returns and registrations to be shared on a daily basis.

"Though 47 lakh traders have filed summary returns under the GSTR3B for July, only 3.05-lakh of them have filed for August so far while the deadline is September 20", said Modi.

The GoM held its first meeting in Bengaluru on Saturday and discussed at length technical issues faced by GSTN with top executives of the IT major Infosys that has developed and built the IT system for new tax regime.

The panel of ministers set up to review the functioning of the IT network for the Goods and Services Tax (GST) has set timelines for fixing the issues affecting the GSTN (Goods & Services Tax Network). "In a a month's time, 70-80% problems will be resolved", Modi said after the meeting.

Over the last couple of days, GSTN officials have met several large enterprises and tax officials from various states to identify and fix all glitches in the system so that taxpayers don't face problems while filing GST. With around 85 lakh dealers registering under GST, the filing of returns on the last day of August had caused technical glitches.
