In "What Happened", her new book due out September 12, 2017, Hillary Clinton blames what she calls voter suppression in Wisconsin and other states as one reason she lost the 2016 presidential election to Donald Trump.

Hillary Clinton on Tuesday warned that if President Donald Trump were "left to his own devices", he would take steps to emulate authoritarian leaders like Russian President Vladimir Putin.

In an interview with Jane Pauley on CBS Sunday Morning, Clinton said she was "gobsmacked" her opponent won. "And there's no doubt in my mind that the Trump campaign and other associates have worked really hard to hide their connections with Russians", she said.

With so many appearances scheduled, it will be interesting to see if Clinton will parcel out news nuggets and try to make each interview unique in some way.

She adds: "None of the factors I've discussed here lessen the responsibility I feel or the aching sense that I let everyone down".

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton attends a signing of her new book "What happened" at Barnes & Noble bookstore at Union Square in Manhattan September 12, 2017.

In 2016, Clinton lost the election to the Republican Party candidate Donald Trump, who obtained 304 electoral votes to Clinton's 227 electoral votes.

Sanders, however, said Trump "knew at the time that it could be bad for him politically, but he also knew and felt he had an obligation to do what was right". Already, excerpts from the book have surface online. Special Counsel Robert Mueller is spearheading the federal investigation. She wrote on the amount of attention she gave the mid-western states; "Some critics have said that everything hinged on me not campaigning enough in the Midwest", Clinton wrote. His investigation, along with those of several congressional committees, includes explosive public and private testimony from James Comey, the FBI director Trump fired in May, and from some of Trump's top aides.

Trump has also repeatedly revived the bitter rhetoric from the campaign, such as using Clinton's email scandal to try to distract from the ongoing investigation into his campaign's possible ties to Russian Federation.

A White House spokeswoman came out swinging against Hillary Clinton's new memoir. When we started the campaign we had every reason to believe that we had a path forward that relied on how people felt about me and how they thought about my work over many years.
