Lady Gaga's Super Bowl 51 Halftime Show past year was the "most-watched musical event of all-time" across all platforms with almost 118 million viewers, according to the NFL.

While his wife Beyonce performed in both 2013 and 2016 to huge fanfare, it seems that the rapper reportedly turned the same opportunity down, due to showing solidarity with National Football League player Colin Kaepernick.

"I want to dedicate this song to Colin Kaepernick tonight", Jay-Z said of "The Story of O.J."at the Meadows Music and Arts Festival in Queens". So it's no surprise to hear that they'd like to build a little more goodwill among casual fans by getting another top-notch act to step up for the Super Bowl LII Halftime Show. "Along with Pepsi, we know that we will put on a spectacular show".

Earlier in the year, both Jay Z and Justin Timberlake had been rumored to be options for the game. The NFL is now searching for an artist that will top last season's performance by Lady Gaga, which was watched by as many as 117.5 million TV viewers.

"I'm not surprised by that at all and I'm actually glad that people are using their platform in this way", Sole told Fox 9.

Her husband, Jay-Z, has reportedly turned down an offer to be the main event at this year's half time show at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

Super Bowl LI will take place on February 4, 2018 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
