'Star Wars Episode IX' loses director Colin Trevorrow

Just announced, The Force Awakens' director, J.J. Abrams will direct Star Wars Episode IX So, for anyone who can't keep track, it'll be J.J. Abrams, Rian Johnson, and back to J.J. Abrams.

A few days ago, Colin Trevorrow has been officially landed in Episode IX, and we cannot say that this has created a shock wave among the fans.

Rian Johnson has so far emerged publicly unscathed from The Last Jedi, which opens in December.

The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson is now the frontrunner to replace Trevorrow, although at the time of writing no official announcement has been made. He said since it was never the plan for him to make that movie, he's been "entirely focused" on Last Jedi and paying little mind to what's happening with its sequel.

Lucasfilm also parted ways with Han Solo Anthology Film directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller in June, reportedly after a conflict between the directors, Kennedy and long-time Star Wars contributor Lawrence Kasdan.

The search for a filmmaker to replace Colin Trevorrow as director of "Star Wars: Episode IX" is over.

"Star Wars: Episode IX" is slated to premiere on May 24, 2019.

Gordon-Levitt has appeared in all three of Johnson's films - Looper, Brick, and The Brothers Bloom (the latter in an uncredited role). He told CinemaBlend, "I knock on his door every day, and I'm like, 'Am I in the movie yet?"

"So no, I'm not really thinking about that now", Johnson said. Johnson confirmed to Japanese media that the former Third Rock From the Sun star will be voicing a character in the movie, which definitely means a CGI alien.

No news yet on who his successor on the film will be.

Or maybe one Star Wars movie is enough for anyone, given that J.J. Abrams also suggested he wouldn't be up for directing Episode IX either. We don't know yet whether or not the proposed date for Star Wars Episode IX will change, but depending on how much J.J. Abrams has to change that could definitely be a possibility.
