Sky is thatgamecompany's next game, and it's Apple-exclusive

Thatgamecompany has revealed its next project in the form of Sky, a new experience coming to Apple devices later this year. "Everything can be done with one finger on the Siri remote", Chen says of the game. The objective according to Chen is "to bring the light where it's needed the most".

If it's anything like TGC's past efforts, expect plenty of subtext and symbolism hidden beneath lush environments and high-flying characters.

Sky is a multiplayer-focussed adventure game, clearly taking its cues from the artistically inclined Journey.

The next game from the creators of Journey will let you soar above the clouds with your friends, but only on iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV.

Thatgamecompany, the dev team behind the critically acclaimed Journey, is developing its new title, Sky, exclusively for Apple platforms. We wanted as many people to love games, and so we were encouraged to explore this idea at thatgamecompany. Their first title was Flow released across all the PlayStation platforms, followed in 2009 by the handsome Flower which as noted during this Apple event is the only video game to ever be made a permanent fixture in the Smithsonian American Art Museum. Like Journey, Sky will let players play with up to eight players online. If you can imagine the delight of visiting a theme park where lasting memories are made, we envision Sky will sometimes feel like that. That's right: iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV at launch.
