Marlins Move Weekend Series From Miami To Milwaukee Due To Irma Recovery Efforts

Conley (7-7) allowed three runs and five hits in 5⅔ innings in the second game of a series relocated from Miami to Milwaukee because of the aftermath of Hurricane Irma.

In a classy yet fun move, the Brewers went all out to make the Marlins feel at home, bringing in tropical plants, sea shells, flamingo statues and other items with a South Florida ambience.

Tickets will cost between $10 and $20 through here starting Thursday at 10 a.m. Parking will cost $10.

In the sixth, the Brewers showed some new energy, with Braun and Travis Shaw leading off the inning with back-to-back homers to cut the Marlins' lead to 6-3.

Normally when weather leads to a movement of a series, a neutral site is chosen. "Marlins Park stood ready to host the games, but we all agreed that burdening public service resources was not the proper course of action". Every win the rest of the way will be crucial, including their four game series with Chicago at Miller Park from September 21-24. The Marlins will return to their real home for their series against the Mets that begins on Monday.

"The change of venue was made at the request of Major League Baseball and the Marlins, due to the conditions caused by Hurricane Irma", said Brewers Chief Operating Officer Rick Schlesinger, in a press release. The capacity will increase to 23,000 for games on Saturday and Sunday with staffing extended to the loge level those days.
