Martin Shkreli Apologizes for Clinton Hair 'Prank'

Prosecutors seek to revoke Martin Shkreli's bail after threatening comments

A somber-looking Shkreli, wearing a purple dress shirt and a shaggy mop of hair, was taken into custody by U.S, Marshal deputies just after 6 p.m.as his grim-faced legal team stood by.

In a letter addressed to Judge Kiyo Matsumoto, Shkreli wrote that he "used poor judgment" and "never meant to cause alarm or promote any act of violence". Specifically, he asked his social media followers to get him Hillary Clinton's hair if they attended one of her book signings.

Prosecutors stated that, despite Shkreli's assertion the post was "satire", it led the Secret Service to expend "significant additional resources to ensure Secretary Clinton's protection".

Shkreli faces up to 20 years in prison for the fraud conviction. The judge on Wednesday set Shkreli's sentencing date for January 16.

"It never occurred to me that my awkward attempt at humor or satire would cause Mrs. Clinton or the Secret Service any distress".

He apologized to the judge, and even to his own lawyers, "for the aggravation that my recent postings have caused".

Brafman said that Shkreli should not be jailed because he "never intended any harm or violence".

Shkreli's defense team told the judge they didn't condone their client's comments.

Prosecutors argue that Shkreli has harassed Hillary Clinton before when in September 2016 he stood outside Chelsea Clinton's Manhattan apartment building, where the former secretary of state was recuperating after becoming ill during a memorial service at the World Trade Center, and heckled her during a two-hour live-streaming marathon.

Former pharmaceutical executive Martin Shkreli has had his bail revoked and will head to jail, according to media reports. "Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I don't know", Trump said.

Another top Big Apple lawyer, Gerald Lefcourt, earlier said that while Shkreli probably should be allowed to remain free on bail, "I think the judge is probably at wit's end with respect to. his conduct". Citing "escalating pattern of threats and harassment", prosecutors alleged that Shkreli was a "danger to his community", Fortune reported.

Shkreli said he was not a "violent person" and that his bail should not be revoked. "Sometimes stupid is just plain stupid", he said.
