The Spokesman-Review reports that the school did a modified lockdown drill on Tuesday.

Dr. Jeff Collins, the chief physician at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center, told them they had "up to" six victims from the shooting, and two had been admitted to the hospital.

Ambulances were seen responding to the scene.

Multiple injuries are being reported following a shooting at a high school south of Spokane.

A suspect was taken into custody, The Review said. The ages and extent of injuries at not known.

All Spokane Public Schools, the Central Valley School District and the Mead District are all on lockdown due to the shooting. I am a junior, evacuated from the high school. All schools in the area were on lockdown as a precaution.

At least four people were said to have been shot.

"I saw someone carrying a gurney into the elementary school but I didn't know why", she said.

KREM (2) news in Spokane tweets that Spokane fire reports no active threat.
