New Orleans Mayoral Candidate Allegedly Caught Pleasuring Himself In An Uber

New Orleans mayoral candidate Frank Scurlock cited for masturbating during Uber ride in California

New Orleans mayoral candidate Frank Scurlock's toughest opponent could be his own past, as accusations have arisen that he was caught masturbating in an Uber last February.

Scurlock in February was picked up from a West Hollywood hotel by an Uber driver and driven through Santa Monica when the driver heard noises coming the backseat, according to Terry White, a deputy city attorney in Santa Monica. The woman stopped the vehicle and opened the passenger auto door and discovered Scurlock with his penis exposed and masturbating, White said.

Scurlock has peppered New Orleans with billboards of his face with the slogan "Make New Orleans Fun Again".

"What you just told me is more than I know", Scurlock claimed when contacted by the publication on Wednesday.

A mayoral candidate in New Orleans is facing a charge of lewd conduct after an Uber driver said she found him masturbating in the back seat.

The driver then went to a gas station to call police, and Scurlock fled the scene, White said. White said that was in part due to questions about who would prosecute the case since the drive crossed multiple jurisdictions. She told police officers that she caught him pleasuring himself, pulled over and told him to get out.

On Friday, Scurlock disclosed that the charges are "without merit" and that he will be "vindicated" in court.

The politician will have to appear in court on October 16 - two days after the primary election.

Lewd conduct is a misdemeanor in California but if found guilty, Scurlock would be required to register as a sex offender in the state, White said.

The mayoral candidate was also arrested this past May on charges of obstructing a public place, which was later revised to assault and crossing a police cordon.
