Nintendo To Revive Sold Out NES Classic Edition

1-Up: Nintendo Bringing Back NES Classic Edition Console in 2018

The company says its Nintendo Entertainment System Classic Edition will return next summer.

In the meantime, this is the Super Nintendo that will be of the feast at the end of the year 2018, with the launch at the end of September of the SNES Classic Mini.

Nintendo dubbed the console a "limited-time product" and discontinued it in April. As of now, no specific dates of availability have been announced by the company yet. SNES Classic shipments will then continue to arrive in stores "regularly" in the weeks and months following launch as well, so perhaps it won't be quite as impossible to get one as it was to find a NES Classic. We understand that it has been hard for many consumers to find a system, and for that we apologize. A few months later, in April of a year ago, Nintendo announced the end of production of the machine, much to the chagrin of the interested parties, then meant to pay the high price on the sites of sale online in order to offer the precious machine. Twenty-one games will be available for the SNES edition, including Super Mario World, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and Super Metroid. It was originally scheduled to cease production by the end of 2017.

So far, the news has been well-received in the gaming community, especially since many were concerned that the supply will not be able to accommodate the fans' demand.

Facebook/NintendoRetailer giant Walmart has canceled pre-orders of the Nintendo Super NES Classic, citing a mistake with their system.
