Prince Harry attends first Toronto event ahead of third Invictus Games

Prince Harry has arrived in Toronto for the Invictus Games.

Prince Harry, 32, founded the sporting event that uses the "power of sport" with wounded and ill servicemen and women to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation, in addition to developing a better understanding of those who serve their country back in 2014.

When Melania Trump travels to Toronto this week for the Invictus Games, the worldwide Olympics-style sports competition for wounded veterans, she'll have some interesting backup: Las Vegas lounge singer extraordinaire Wayne Newton is among those in the presidential delegation.

During the eight-day event, Harry will visit training sessions and watch participants competing in all 12 sports, including athletics, cycling and wheelchair basketball.

The third and largest edition of the games will officially begin Saturday night with the opening ceremony at the Air Canada Centre.

Melania Trump follows in the footsteps of Dr. Joe Biden and former first lady Michelle Obama.

Tomorrow the Prince will hold bilateral meetings with US First Lady Melania Trump, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and outgoing Canadian Governor General David Johnston.

Suits star Markle, who has been dating the Queen's grandson for just over a year, revealed her love for the prince in an interview with Vanity Fair magazine, prompting speculation the announcement of a royal engagement was merely a formality. As such, most royal prognosticators anticipate Markle-currently in production for Suits, which films in Toronto-will make an appearance at some point over the course of the Games, alongside Harry.

CTV News reporters will be covering the Invictus Games on Snapchat, too.

The moments that left the monarchy red faced, from Prince George, Prince Harry and little Princess Charlotte.

Closing ceremony performers include the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Bryan Adams and Kelly Clarkson.
