Qualcomm taunts Apple with a list of Android firsts

Why did Apple avoid talking about Android in the iPhone X announcement

Why did Apple avoid talking about Android in the iPhone X announcement

Meanwhile, on the blog post published on Monday, Francisco Cheng, director of technical marketing said it has "enabled some notable world firsts on Android, and some remain Android exclusives to this day".

The next iPhone, marking the 10th anniversary of the device, thought to be called the iPhone 8 or iPhone X, is expected to hold some significant changes, with possible features including an OLED display, camera upgrades, and wireless charging. Dual cameras? Well yes, it was an Android first - but we're pretty sure the HTC One M7 had a single camera.

But if you want Gigabit LTE now, Qualcomm suggests getting a Samsung Galaxy S8. It is odd to see Galaxy S8 here as it not features a single rear camera. It has worked with many new companies such as OPPO and Vivo in China. The chipmaker only briefly noted that "inventions from Qualcomm lay the foundation for so many technologies and experiences we value in our smartphones today - on Android and other platforms".

Apple uses modems from both Intel and Qualcomm in iPhones but reportedly decided, for consistency's sake, not to enable Gigabit LTE in iPhones with Qualcomm's modem until Intel chips have the same capability.

EE already boasts some of the fastest mobile network speeds in the United Kingdom, with widespread support for CAT 9 devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S7 and iPhone 7 Plus with theoretical download speeds of over 400Mbps. For example, under Iris Authentication/Facial Recognition, the Samsung Galaxy S8 is listed. Let's take fast charging or quick charging, a feature that Qualcomm is pretty proud to hype. It has pioneered in making the Xperia Z4 as the first smartphone with water resistant touchscreen and Xiaomi Mi MIX as the first bezel-less phone. Lastly, I don't quite understand how it's fair to include a non-commercial "Qualcomm Reference Design Handset" in any of these categories, but hey.
