Westbrook signed with Jordan Brand in 2013, and has since become the face of its yearly flagship shoe.

Now, with this new contract in place, it is expected the Jordan Brand will begin moving Westbrook from being the star pushing Air Jordans to develop his own signature shoe.

Russell Westbrook has signed a ten-year contract extension with Nike's Jordan Brand that will keep the Oklahoma City Thunder superstar with the shoe company until the 2025-26 National Basketball Association season.

Russell Westbrook will not be leaving Jordan Brand anytime soon.

Terms of Westbrook's new Jordan deal were unknown at press time. His numbers may regress a bit this coming season with the arrival of Paul George to the team, but Westbrook could see his Thunder go deeper in the playoffs for the same reason. The new contract will retroactively extend back to his 2016-17 season, as well, when Westbrook was named league MVP. Thad Foucher of Wasserman, negotiated the extension in advance.

Westbrook's first signature shoe is now in the works and is expected to be "flashy" and "unlike anything that Jordan Brand has done before", DePaula reports.

With his stock getting higher after winning the league's biggest individual award, the Jordan Brand took the opportunity to lock up one of the most sought-after stars in today's game.

The agreement with the popular shoe company is reportedly the most lucrative endorsement deal ever by any Jordan athlete. He recently returned from a tour of China to promote Jordan Brand and is now in New York City for fashion week. Foundation, which aims to launch even more "reading rooms" and other educational and athletic initiatives for kids in Westbrook's two home bases of Oklahoma City and Southern California. But the contract extension, negotiated by Westbrook's agent Thad Foucher and the Wasserman agency, has an increased pay rate that retroactively applies to his MVP season past year and also takes effect this season.
