Not holding back Prior to the transplant The Heart Wants Want It Wants singer'was feeling really lethargic and worn out; the star posted another view of her recovery

"I was just as surprised as everyone else when I woke up and saw her Instagram", the "Jealous" singer told SiriusXM's Hits 1 during an interview on Friday.

I'm very aware some of my fans had noticed I was laying low for part of the summer and questioning why I wasn't promoting my new music, which I was extremely proud of. Selena Gomez has had issues in the past with her health and previously entered a rehabilitation program to deal with mental health issues.

On Thursday, the singer shocked the world when she revealed she had a kidney transplant.

"Selena's openness and strong emotional connection to her worldwide audience has brought extraordinary awareness to a disease that is typically overlooked", the organisation's president, Kenneth M. Farber, says in a statement.

Her fans responded with well wishes for Gomez - who just revealed she underwent a kidney transplant this summer - and for Gaga herself.

Although Gomez has yet to make her adoption Instagram official, she has posted a video staring her puppy on her Instagram story, as has her friend, photographer Petra Collins.

Upon discovering pop-star Selena Gomez had undergone a life-saving kidney transplant, the 25 year old's former Disney Channel co-star, Jake T. Austin, has penned a heartwarming message to his "sister". She also revealed that the donor was her close friend Francia Raisa, an actress known for her roles on Dear White People and The Secret Life of the American Teenager. Now she knows how blessed she is by this friendship because it is a big thing to donate a kidney.

In an Instagram post depicting her and Raisa, 29, in adjoining hospital beds, she wrote, "There aren't words to describe how I can possibly thank my handsome friend Francia Raisa".

"I'm thrilled and proud of her", added the singer who first met Selena when they were young children on Barney & Friends.

"Thank God they're both doing great", she shared.

As Selena continues her own recovery, Lady Gaga is overcoming health struggles as well.
