The 30-share Sensex was up 155.78 points, or 0.48 percent, higher at 32,037.94 with sectoral indices led by metal, realty, consumer durables, FMCG and capital goods stocks trading in the positive zone. At 11:26 AM, the Sensex notched a 207.75 point gain.

Investors are looking forward to August CPI inflation and July IIP data on Tuesday for any turnaround after the disruption caused by GST.

The rupee on Monday retreated from its one-month high to end lower by 15 paise to 63.93 a dollar on overwhelming demand for the American currency from corporates and banks.
