AAA says there was a drop in regional gas supplies last week, reflecting a tighter supply due to those refineries remaining offline after Hurricane Harvey.

Even states north of Florida were affected, with 23% of gas stations in Savannah, Georgia, 21% in Augusta, Georgia, and 19% in Charleston, South Carolina out of fuel.

Average retail gasoline prices in Chattanooga have risen 4.4 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.56 per gallon on sunday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 170 gas outlets in Chattanooga.

States most likely to see gas prices increase post-Irma are those directly in the storm's path with ripple effects up the East Coast. Overall, the potential storm-related increase in gas buying, combined with delivery delays will likely cause gas prices to continue increasing into the weekend.

Including the change in price, fuel prices were 28.4 cents per gallon higher than the same day a year ago and it was 17.8 cents per gallon higher than last month. "With summer driving season now over, motorists stand to benefit from falling demand, which will help refineries bring gasoline inventories back to normal, and thus gas prices". Including the change in price, the national average increased by 30.4 cents per gallon during the last month and was 48.1 cents per gallon higher than past year.

The price of gas in MA has not changed this week.

Georgia was averaging $2.757 on the AAA survey and $2.762 on GasBuddy's on Monday.
