Ubisoft Announce Online Multiplayer FPS Atomega

GROW, EVOLVE AND BATTLE FOR DOMINANCE IN NEW UBISOFT GAME ATOMEGA

Ubisoft sent out a surprising press release to announce ATOMEGA, a new online multiplayer first-person shooter due to launch on Steam next week. As masters of matter and energy, players must acquire mass by collecting or fighting other Exoforms, eventually evolving these creatures into "godlike" Omega creatures. It's a hell of a risk releasing a smaller scale shooter into the saturated PC market, so we'll see if Atomega can capture an audience on 19 September.

The setup is that the game takes place at the end of time where all that exists are advanced beings known as Exoforms.

Overnight, Ubisoft Reflections announced Atomega, which pits players against each other at the end of time, when reality is rapidly dissolving and "the laws of physics slowly repeal". You play as an Exoform, the last lifeform in the galaxy-a relative of man and machine. For just $10, players can compete in 10-minute rounds where the goal is to gain as much cubic mass throughout the map as possible while destroying one of eight players in each game. Check out the announcement trailer below. Good thing there are plenty weaker players to team up against those that have accumulated the most mass so far in any battle.

Atomega promises to be a "relentlessly competitive experience, an easy to pick-up but hard to master game".
