Apple is allegedly slashing its production orders for the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus by roughly 50 percent for November and December, which if true could be the earliest such cut in the iPhone's history, AppleInsider says.

Apple shares reportedly fell 1.5 percent in premarket trading on Thursday. The iPhone X will be Apple's first iPhone to have an edge to edge screen and will not have a home button.

Despite having the fastest processor and best camera ever put into an iPhone, plus featuring wireless charging for the first time, the iPhone 8 hasn't been getting consumers into stores at the rate Apple is accustomed to. Finally, Vetr raised shares of Apple from a "hold" rating to a "buy" rating and set a $166.96 price target for the company in a report on Thursday, August 17th. And while the iPhone 8 has been available for less than one month, the early signs of interest aren't encouraging.

To answer the inevitable question: Yes, there are definitely some would-be iPhone owners who are waiting to see Apple's other new model, the iPhone X, which goes on sale starting November 3 in many countries.

But the negative news out of Asia isn't scaring Drexel Hamilton analyst Brian White, who says to "buy into the iPhone 8 gloom and doom ahead of the iPhone X".

Apple's new iPhone comes with a 5.8 inch Super Retina HD display that features a resolution of 2436 x 1125 pixels and the handset features Face ID which is Apple's new facial recognition security feature.

"Investors have heard iPhone 8 sales aren't strong, so suppliers such as Merry and Catcher have been weak".

Remember, the stakes for Apple and its new iPhone lineup are extremely high.

The Predix SDK provides developers the ability to make powerful, native apps that will in return offer more visibility into the performance of equipment and operations that can be monitored straight from Apple's products. "Together, Apple and GE are fundamentally changing how the industrial world works by combining GE's Predix platform with the power and simplicity of iPhone and iPad". Surprisingly, only 2 people showed up for the release of the new iPhone.
