British jihadi 'White Widow' killed by U.S. drone - Sun report

British IS recruiter Sally-Anne Jones, dubbed the White Widow, has reportedly been killed in a U.S. drone strike.

She was killed months ago but it is believed news of her death was withheld by the U.S. and United Kingdom amid fears that her son, Joe "JoJo" Dixon, was also killed.

US intelligence chiefs were quoted as saying they could not be 100 percent certain that Jones had been killed as there was no way of recovering any DNA from the ground, but they were "confident" she was dead.

USA spy chiefs reportedly told MI6 that Sally Jones was killed close to the border between Syria and Iraq in June.

Jones had been going under the name Umm Hussain al-Britani, and issued threats against the United Kingdom from her twitter account, urging Muslim women to launch terrorist attacks during Ramadan.

Following the death of Hussain, Jones was reportedly placed in charge of the female wing of IS' Anwar al-Awlaki batallion - a foreign fighter unit formed with the objective of planning and executing attacks in the West.

Jones operated numerous social media accounts and used them to recruit women to Isis.

The world's most wanted female terrorist has been linked to at least 12 terror plots after fleeing Britain to fight for Daesh in Syria.

Born in the Greenwich area of London, she posted extremist comments online such as: "You Christians all need beheading with a nice blunt knife and stuck on the railings at Raqqa. She told me she wish to go to her country". "Come here I'll do it for you".

Jones was understood to be a high priority on the Pentagon's "kill list" as she was believed to be one of the terror group's top recruiters and the mastermind behind several terror plots.

He said: "Recently IS have said women should get involved in jihad - that's a sign of weakness".

He continued: "Even if he got up to really bad things, he shouldn't have been targeted".
