With this integration, you will be able to use Duo to quickly make video calls to your contacts who have installed the app. Google is also adding a banner that explains what Duo video calling is, and how to use it inside the dialler app.

Owners of the Pixel or Pixel XL and Nexus devices should be seeing an update this morning for an app called Device Health Services.

Google has made a mess out of its instant messaging and video calling apps. It is rated as the highest quality video calling app based on Signals Research Group technical study.

Some good features of the Duo app are "knock knock", cross-platform calling, and audio calls. Lastly, audio calling is there for the times when the signal quality is too low for video calls. And today, Google has added the battery app found on Pixel and Nexus on the Play Store, for faster and easier updates. As you can see below, starting a Duo call through the dialer is as simple as tapping the contact and pressing video call. Now, the company is trying to integrate its new chatting and video calling apps into Pixel's stock apps. But you can still install Android Oreo right now via SIX AOSP ROM. Developer "Frankie T (R3Ds)" has successfully ported Android 8.0 Oreo for the Nexus 6.

Also, the Contacts app version 2.1 and up will show video calling icon next to the contact's name.

Google released the "Pixel Ambient Services" app for Pixel 2's Shazam-like music recognition feature on Play Store, ahead of the October 4th Pixel announcement event. On the Google Pixel devices running Android 8.0 Oreo, the app version has changed to 1.0.2 from 8.0.0.
