Motorola, the brand which was taken over by Lenovo has announced that it would launch the Moto X4 in India on November 13.

The smart speaker will provide nearly all functions that Alexa offers on Echo devices like controlling the smart home devices, playing music, answering queries, sharing news, getting you a cab and more.

As the name itself suggests, the snap-to-connect mod accessory features its own dedicated speaker.

While this newly announced Mod boosts one feature on the phone - speaker, it blocks another feature - camera. As a testament to that, it even sports the Echo's iconic blue LED ring.

One notable design cue here is the dock in which it can double as a charging stand. Motorola says this is just the thing for nightstands.

The Moto Smart Speaker has a 1,530mAh battery and is capable of outputting 8W of sound. If you are anxious about battery life, the mod will have a 15-hour built-in battery that will keep your phone alive while you have a conversation with Alexa, it also has a dock-like design that is meant to be used on your nightstand. The Alexa speaker will be available for $150 United States (£99 in the UK) when it ships in November to those countries where Alexa has official support.

Remember that the Smart Speaker Moto Mod can be used only when there is a compatible smartphone. Well, the latest one is the Moto smart speaker with Amazon Alexa. In a few hours, there will be another way to buy the X4 - from Amazon.

Motorola's new Moto Mod allows users to have Amazon Alexa wherever they go.
