Police on the scene of a shooting in Trelleborg

Neighbours report seeing some "running outside" at the time.

Police say a K-9 unit is searching for weapons and officers are interviewing witnesses.

It is not yet known if there have been any fatalities in the incident.

"We have received several reports of a shooting in Trelleborg", a Swedish police spokesperson told The Express.

"There were many shots. There are several people who have experienced confirmed gunshot wounds", a statement issued by Police Skåne read. It's packed with police cars in the street'.

Aron Tydén told local media: "I was at home at my computer when I heard a loud bang".

Security officials have blocked some areas and are conducting "an investigation".

Trelleborg is a Swedish port town located 33 kilometers south of Malmo and 64 kilometers southeast of Copenhagen, Denmark.

Local media reported that at least four people had been taken to hospital, while some unconfirmed reports suggested up to seven people might have been seriously injured.

They said several people were injured at different locations. Right now, it's locked off.
