Fortunately, Porsche is launching a subscription-based service for people who want to try driving their cars. For a monthly payment of $2k, subscribers have access to a range of 8 different Porsche vehicles, such as basic model Macans, Cayennes and 718 variants, all accessed and booked via an app. The program takes the hassle out of buying a auto and is similar to what Volvo is offering with its new XC40 crossover. The automaker calls it a "white-glove" service meant to give users app-driven access to a different Porsche on a flexible schedule.

"Launch": Includes on-demand access to eight model variants such as the 718 Boxster and Cayman S, as well as the Macan S and Cayenne, for a monthly fee of $2,000.

It should be noted that the subscription fees mention above includes maintenance, insurance, detailing, as well as registration and vehicle tax. "Catering to customers' desire to experience our sports cars in new ways is a part of our core strategy", said President and CEO Klaus Zellmer of PCNA. The pilot program for Passport launches next month in Atlanta, but if that goes well, expect Porsche to add new markets after the test phase ends.

You'll have to pass both a background and credit check to join, and there's a $500 membership activation fee, but take care of all that, and you'll be all set.

To sign up, Atlantans can download the Porsche Passport app available on Apple and Android devices to apply for membership. Upon approval, vehicles deliveries may commence anywhere in the metro-Atlanta area beginning November 2017. (PCNA) is the exclusive US importer of Porsche 911, 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman sports cars; Macan and Cayenne SUVs; and Panamera sports sedans.

Porsche is looking for a way to reach younger consumers whose shopping and transportation habits have been shaped by Silicon Valley giants like Uber Technologies Inc. and Airbnb Inc.

Crucially, there's no mileage cap, meaning a cross-country trip in an electrified Porsche is just a few taps away.
