Radio show host Delilah Rene announced Saturday her son Zachariah passed away by suicide

She wrote, in part, "He was being treated, counseled, and embraced fiercely by family and friends while battling depression for some time now". Her son Sammy died in 2012 from complications from sickle-cell anemia. "My heart is broken beyond fix and I cannot fathom how to go on".

The radio host and mother to 13 children has previously suffered the loss of a child.

Ten of her children are adopted, including four from the Washington State foster care system, two orphans from Ghana, and three Liberian refugees.

That same year, Delilah Wednesday Paul Warner, a man she says "rarely drinks, doesn't use drugs and adores me with all of his being".

"Some folks wonder how we manage to keep our relationship strong living so far apart, but I suspect it may be the secret to our success!" she said.

Following the separation, Delilah didn't have her parents to turn to, as they disowned her for marrying an African-American man.

Delilah shared the news of Zach's tragic passing on Saturday on social media with her 1.5 million fans.

But now it's her heart that is broken. She has not yet stated when she plans to return. Featuring a mix of call-in requests and love songs, she can be heard nightly on dozens of iHeartMedia stations across the US, including several in Upstate New York like Y94FM in Syracuse, Sunny 102.3 in Rochester, and Mix 103.3 in Vestal. She is the most listened-to female radio host in the US and her show is heard on more than 150 stations. She continued that she'll look forward of her return very soon. The show, which is based in the Pacific Northwester, airs at 7pm and wraps up around midnight local time.
