"With an expanded customization system and the addition of a brand-new crafting system, The Evil Within 2 provides all players with myriad options for survival, allowing you to make your way through the world in the way that best suits your playstyle".

In The Evil Within 2, Sebastian Castellanos must once again confront unspeakable horrors within the nightmare born from the infamous STEM. But when given a chance to save your daughter, you must enter a world filled with nightmares and discover the dark origins of a once-idyllic town to bring her back. Aim assist is enabled by default here. It ranges from casual, which has more items, weaker enemies, and a key ability unlocked from the start, to Nightmare, which is for fans of the original The Evil Within's difficulty. For those exclusively looking for the survival horror thrills of the first game, its spotlight upon combat will likely be a disappointment, as will its introduction of a tiresome open world. The soundtrack is also available now, composed by Masatoshi Yanagi. If you played the original game, you know that things are about to get very twisted. There are no autosaves, for instance, and only a limited number of saves.

Sebastian will be unable to upgrade his weapons or himself. You can only save your game seven times throughout the entire game, so you'll need to plot your course and only save when essential.

The game has also moved on from the strict linear structure of the first game to offer up some more open environments for you to explore.

The Evil Within 2 is out now on Steam and the Humble Store for £39.99/$59.99.
