Twitter blocks Blackburn campaign from promoting video due to statement about ‘baby body parts

"Twitter shut down our announcement video ad, claiming it was "inflammatory" & 'negative.' Silicon Valley should not be allowed to impose their values on us", she wrote on Facebook.

The AP reported that a Twitter representative told the candidate's vendors Monday that the comment was "deemed an inflammatory statement" and is likely "to evoke a strong negative reaction", which reportedly violated the site's rules for paid advertisements.

Social media platforms have come under fire in both the United States and overseas for enabling the spread of extremist content and "fake news", but Twitter surprised many in Washington on Monday with its decision to block a USA congresswoman's campaign ad.

Under Blackburn's leadership, the committee investigated the illegal fetal-tissue-trafficking industry, prompted by a series of undercover videos suggesting that Planned Parenthood and other abortion clinics had cooperated with biotech firms to profit from the organs of aborted babies.

A Senate campaign ad by Republican Rep. Marsha Blackburn was blocked on Twitter Monday because of a statement she made in the spot about the sale of fetal tissue for medical research.

Included in this vast category were all tweets calling for the removal of Planned Parenthood's federal funding, all tweets reporting on investigations into Planned Parenthood clinics, and any ultrasound images of children. Bob Corker, who is retiring at the end of 2018. But Blackburn is standing her ground.

Is this the only instance of Twitter blocking pro-life ads?

"I know the left calls me a wingnut or a knuckle-dragging conservative", Blackburn said in the video.

Blackburn stated that it was "astounding" that Twitter censored a "pro-women, pro-baby, pro-life message".

Following the release of the videos and just after the Congressional panel was formed, Planned Parenthood announced that it would no longer take reimbursements for fetal tissue donations. I fought Planned Parenthood, and we stopped the sale of baby body parts.
