It pays to flip off Trump's motorcade

More than £40000 raised for woman fired for lifting middle finger to President Donald Trump

50-year-old Juli Briskman, who identifies herself as a Democrat, said she didn't think twice before doing so. The photo soon went viral with many calling it utterly disrespectful, while some viewed it as a an accurate depiction for the contempt many Americans have for the Commander-In-Chief.

A GoFundMe campaign with a $100,000 goal was set up eight days ago. "This week we learned that she was sacked from her employer for exercising her first amendment rights".

The campaign claims to have connected with Briskman and says she will receive all funds.

The whole incident took place when Briskman was cycling through Sterling, Virginia in September and President Trump's motorcade passed her on the way to one of his golf courses.

"Juli Briskman is an inspiration to us all. You can show your support by donating here".

Addressing the sacking process itself, the marketing executive said: "They said, 'We're separating from you'". Her employer, a builder that works on government contracts, noticed the photo and let her go.

Recalling the unlikely furore which took place on her standard cycling route, the mother of two said she became incensed when she set eyes on the USA president's motorcade coming up beside her.

She added: "Basically, you can not have "lewd" or "obscene" things on your social media".

"He was passing by and my blood just started to boil", she told Huffington Post.

The US president was making his 96th visit to one of his properties when Briskman saw red and flipped him the finger.

Briskman has thanked online donors, writing "Through your very generous donations, many of those heavy burdens have been lifted".
