Manchester City not invincible - Arsene Wenger

City have been the dominant force in the Premier League this season, and their tally of 31 points and a +31 goal difference is the best return from 11 matches in the competition's history.

By far Welbeck's most impressive performance of the season came against Bournemouth earlier in the season, scoring twice and setting up a third goal for Alexandre Lacazette in a comfortable 3-0 win.

Wenger is still frustrated by the decisions made in that game, but is convinced City are not unbeatable.

Asked whether he could manage at the 2022 World Cup, he told beIN Sports: "Maybe, you never know".

Results also got off to a shaky start, notably the 4-0 hammering by Liverpool at Anfield, but they've lost just once in 14 games since then.

"I had a disastrous Euros personally in '88 but I think I focused right back into the team and we had a good bunch of guys there who were all working every week and we went and pulled it off which was an unbelievable thing".

After last season's dramatic 2-1 FA Cup victory against Chelsea, it seemed like it was one final hurrah for Arsene Wenger and Arsenal.

"People always want to predict what will happen", he added.

"The referee had an absolutely atrocious input".

While things didn't work out in Germany, the Italian manager has generally been well liked wherever he's gone, which has led to a good reputation, and that's why so many teams are considering him for the future.

Wenger has vowed to remain in football whatever direction he takes after Arsenal.
