Amazon is making changes as it works to integrate the two companies' operations, according to the release.

Having spent some time as an Amazon exec, Kessler reportedly will take on new responsibilities with Prime Now, Amazon's rapid-delivery operation, and AmazonFresh, the company's grocery-delivery arm.

TechCrunch reports that Amazon is set to expand that footprint by adding pop-up stores in select Whole Foods locations across the US, just in time for the holidays.

Amazon's also going to be adding pop-up stores, staffed with Amazon employees, to select Whole Foods locations in Illinois, Michigan, Florida, California, and Colorado, starting on November 13th.

Amazon had started putting lockers, delivery sites for online shipments, in some Whole Foods stores, and has said it will link its Amazon Prime membership program to Whole Foods. Whole Foods stores already sells Amazon devices at Whole Foods stores across the U.S.

The online retailer has also been expanding its brick-and-mortar presence: It recently opened shops inside some Kohl's department stores and it has opened a dozen brick-and-mortar bookstores.
