Rajput outfit Karni Sena has called for a Rajasthan Bandh on November 30 while the Akhil Bhartiya Kshatriya Mahasabha will hold a protest rally at Talkatora Indoor Stadium in New Delhi. Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali's upcoming magnum opus film Padmavati is embroiled in a spate of controversies where many activists and politicians are protesting against the release of the film.

"From never having been to a film set before and to not knowing how to deliver dialogues to today enjoying the craft so much where I am the most peaceful and happiest when I am in front of the camera".

The incident on Tuesday comes a day after makers of the film agreed to screen it for those who had doubts about its content once the film was passed by the censor board. Few days before, Rajasthan film distributors also refused to buy Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film. The film has Deepika Padukone essaying the role Rani Padmini. They fear that releasing the film in its current form will be a disrespect to their Rajput queen Rani Padmini and bring dishonour to Rajput community. "A situation should not be allowed to happen where members of the community have to come out on the streets", she said.

The movie also stars Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh in the lead role and is slated to release on December 1.

Not only the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, but similar warning have been given by certain groups in Rajput community who are protesting against film's release saying that the film's story distorts with historical facts which may hurt sentiments of a particular community.

The protests against the Bollywood film Padmavati - which had been mostly confined to north and western India, spread south this morning, with the Rajput group that's spearheading it holding demonstrations in tech-hub Bengaluru.

The set of the movie was again vandalised in Kolhapur, with the miscreants burning the costumes in March this year.
