Xiaomi India to launch 'Desh Ka Smartphone' on November 30

The upcoming phone will most likely to be an entry-level model considering Xiaomi's constant efforts to penetrate into Indian rural market as well. "This survey finding is also a testimony of customer's trust in their smartphone brands and at the same time it sends a message about what the customers expect from these companies in future", said Sandeep Budki, founder and editor, The Mobile Indian.

The tweet reads: "Desh ke liye a rahan hain #DeshKaSmartphone A new phone for #Bharat is coming soon!" It could also mean that the device is being manufactured in India under the country's "Make In India" initiative. Xiaomi VP and India MD Manu Kumar Jain has teased the upcoming phone via twitter, naming it Desh ka phone. The company has however not revealed the name of the smartphone to be announced but we expect the Xiaomi Redmi 5A smartphone might be launched in the country. To recall Xiaomi Mi A1 was launched in India in the month of September.

The Redmi 5A gets its strength from decent 3,000 mAh battery and runs on Android Nougat operating system wrapped under MIUI 9. This processor is teamed up with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage space that can be expanded further up to 128GB using a microSD card. The smartphone is priced at 599 yuan in China, which is around $90 or Rs. 5,880.

The Redmi Note 5 will sport a 5.65 inch Full HD + Display and rear fingerprint scanner just below the expected vertical dual camera setup.

According to the survey, over 43 per cent people voted for Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 smartphone as their preferred choice in the budget segment. On the imaging front, the Xiaomi Redmi 5A sports a 13MP main camera with PDAF and LED flash. Connectivity options on the device include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, Infrared port, microUSB 2.0 and FM Radio.
