Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has visited the national secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, where he is meeting with the caretaker national chairman of the party, Ahmed Makarfi, behind closed doors.

"Let nobody fear that the defection of the former Vice-President is going to lead to any deluge. As a matter of fact, the contrary is the case, APC is growing in strength on a daily basis", he said.

Odigie-Oyegun, however, said there was need for change of value, if Nigerians must experience true change and development in the country.

Congratulating the party's national leadership for its efforts in redeeming the party's image, Atiku noted that serious workt was being done to redeem and rebrand it, thus returning it to its original form.

"You have returned in good time and you should continue to contribute in this reinvention, remodeling of our party so that come 2019, we can reclaim what we can claim is ours".

"All what I have come to do today is to come and show my face. I was anxious a bit and hope that this group will not go the same way like IPAC and that you will not allow yourself because the day you will start it your credibility is gone".

And that is to make sure that we build an all-inclusive party where every part of this country will have a sense of belonging and sense of participation.

He stressed that as former chairmen, councillors and ward leaders, members of the association still had influence in their constituencies that could never be overlooked.

"We, the Marwa Organisation are happy with the measures the government is taking in the diversification of the economy which has already started paying off, especially in the agriculture and mining sectors". I want to give you the assurance that light is already there at the end of the tunnel.

Their exit will clearly send the wrong signal to other members of the APC in the state ahead of the next general election. "As a united party we have the capacity and we have the ability to do so", he added.

Omohimua said the association had database of registered members across the 774 local government areas and 8,810 electoral wards in the country.

He also disclosed that the association was proposing a national project tagged: "Operation Recover Nigeria" in line with APC's change agenda.
