Jordan Peele, Simon Kinberg 'Twilight Zone' Reboot Greenlit At CBS All Access

A Twilight Zone TV series reboot is on the way, but it won't be on the airwaves.

Serling, who was born in Syracuse and grew up in Binghamton, created and hosted the original "The Twilight Zone" that ran from 1959 to 1964 on CBS.

A reboot of The Twilight Zone exec produced by Get Out director Jordan Peele has been given a green light by USA network CBS. Simon Kinberg added his thoughts by declaring, "The Twilight Zone was a touchstone in my life".

Given that Get Out often felt like a feature-length Twilight Zone episode, Peele will be a great fit for a show that blends sci-fi and social commentary.

Producer Marco Ramirez, whose notable projects include The Defenders and Daredevil, will work with Peele on the premiere episode, according to CBS.

Peele seems like the ideal choice, who's social thriller Get Out already feels like a Twilight Zone episode.Win Rosenfeld and Audrey Chon will executive produce, while Peele, Kinberg, and Ramirez will "collaborate on the premiere episode".

CBS All Access has announced that they have ordered a reboot of The Twilight Zone. The first effort came in 1985 and lasted for three seasons, while UPN produced a single season of its own reboot in 2002.

The Twilight Zone revival arrives as individual episodic anthologies have become increasingly popular following shows like Netflix's Black Mirror, HBO's Room 104 and TBS' The Guest Book.

CBS All Access is available on your mobile device, Apple TV, Roku, Chromecast, Fire TV, PS4, Xbox or Windows 10. CBS All Access is now available online at CBS.com, on mobile devices via the CBS App for iOS, Android and Windows 10, and on Roku Players, Apple TV, Chromecast, Android TV, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Fire TV.
