Pep Guardiola happy as Man City repeat 'Fergie time' trick against West Ham

Guardiola and Redmond were involved in an animated exchange as they left the pitch in the wake of Manchester City's dramatic 2-1 win over Southampton on Wednesday.

"I've played in my career against lots of managers and I will never judge the way opponents play against one of my teams".

"I have been in that position myself - [Manchester] United used to do it to everybody else to be honest!" the City captain told reporters.

City's victory over Southampton came courtesy of a 96th minute winning goal from Raheem Sterling, the third time in eight days the England striker had scored a last-minute decider.

Last seasons, Guardiola's Manchester City side drew at the hands of Redmond and co, where the winger outshone the entire team in October 2016. Last season, the youngster showed signs that he had another level to take his game, but looked to have held back. I said what I said and what Nathan said in his statement.

'For sure, Nathan for me is an important player for us, hopefully he needs just small steps to improve a little bit.

'I feel most of my players are ready to play right now.

"I explained what happened".

"I think it's a clear penalty, I really do", Howe said. We didn't win clearly because it's so complicated when 10 players defend in the box.

"All we have done during the season with Kevin De Bruyne, Fernandinho, [Nicolas] Otamendi, John Stones before he got injured - all the players who play on the top, top level, it is absolutely to their credit".

"You see how the game went against Huddersfield - it was an own goal from a set-piece that gave them the lead and [against Southampton] set-pieces were a problem - they had a lot of big bodies in there".

"Believe me, I didn't discover Raheem - the player he is, the quality in the last action and his dribbling is his talent". That is my opinion but they can do whatever they want with their free time.

Boufal's challenge was reckless but Smith seemed to exaggerate his fall and his booking means he will now be banned for one game.
