She asks the guard why she can not enter the McDonald's, but he says "it's just a matter of taking it off".

She has vowed never to walk into a branch of McDonald's again. She responded: "It's not just a matter of taking it off".

In a shocking incident, a Muslim 19-year-old female student was asked to remove her headscarf or leave the restaurant at one of McDonald's London joints.

"I go to all the shops and any restaurant I want in my hijab and I buy the food that I want to buy and then I come and I literally live down the street from here".

"I've been living the United Kingdom for 19 years now and this is the first time I'm faced with this kind of discrimination and I'm shocked".

Another customer then intervenes, telling the man - thought to be a security guard - that he can not stop the woman from entering the store. She also tells him it is a hate crime for him to stop her for her attire.

Another patron, an older white man standing behind the staff member, tells the guard he can not stop her from ordering food while wearing her hijab, to which the guard says it's none of the man's business. It is disgusting that hate crimes and discrimination are so prevalent in this country, especially in such a diverse city like London. The worker then asked her to stop recording, and when she doesn't, he offers to serve her. "I've been living in the United Kingdom for 19 years and this is the first time I'm faced with this kind of discrimination".

In footage of the incident, the woman, who asked not to be named, asks a guard why she can not be allowed to queue.

"I'm not being rude, I'm just so shocked right now", the woman says.

Another customer intervened to defend the girl, a British Muslim of Middle Eastern descent, but was told by the guard, "It's none of your business."The restaurant later issued an apology and said it has suspended the security guard involved in the incident". It didn't feel real because I had seen so many videos like this and it was finally happening to me in real life. I was in so much mistrust. When it was over, I finally realised how these situations can become unsafe.

"We are taking this matter extremely seriously", she said. This is not a one-off thing.

'We invite clients of all religions and might want to apologize to the client as this circumstance ought not have occurred, ' she said.
