The Nets will send forward Trevor Booker to the 76ers for Okafor, guard Nik Stauskas and a 2019 second-round pick from the New York Knicks, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Looks like Jahlil Okafor is getting his wish.

The 76ers declined to exercise the option on Okafor's 2018-19 deal, which means he would hit free agency in July.

Okafor was the third pick in the 2015 National Basketball Association draft after winning an NCAA championship in his lone season at Duke.

Philadelphia had been trying to trade Okafor since his rookie season but had been unable to find a taker. While he averaged 14.6 points for the Sixers, and shot 51 percent from the field, he was marginalized by Embiid's rise to stardom. He gives the Nets' offense an interior presence they've lacked, and should see plenty of usage once he's up to speed - remember, he's played just 25 minutes this regular season. The 6-foot-11 Okafor has been out of the 76ers' rotation for parts of the past two seasons, playing in only two games this year.

The Nets are deep into a rebuilding project.

The Sixers drafted Okafor third overall in the 2015 NBA Draft and he averaged 17.5 points and 7.0 rebounds over 53 games while earning first-team All-NBA Rookie team honors during his first season.
