Overwatch Winter Wonderland 2017 Coming December 12

Overwatch Winter Wonderland event is back with an exciting game mode

In a new developer update, Overwatch game director Jeff Kaplan explains all of the skins introduced during last year's event will be returning this year. The main story revolves around Tracer hunting for a present to give her girlfriend, but the end of the story shows what the other Overwatch characters are doing for Christmas.

It appears that Blizzard has listened and that this skin will be coming to the Winter Wonderland event that drops next week. A new legendary Hanzo skin which was featured in one of the Overwatch comics will become available, as well as new legendary skins for Junkrat and Roadhog. "I was absolutely blown away when I saw the work that they had done and we really hope that you enjoy that". Get ready to open those loot boxes. If you missed out on any of the Winter event outfits from past year then you're in luck.

The new mode is called "Mei's Yeti Hunt", and it sees a team of five Meis trying to bring down one super-charged Winston. The idea will be that five Meis will band together to chase after a unsafe yeti-skinned Winston, who is controlled by a single player.

In each match's early goings, Winston has to elude the crack team of adorable, infuriating ice assassins and collect power-ups until he can go into primal rage mode, at which point the tables turn. Once Winston is Primal Rage'd, the Meis just have to escape.

All in all, Mei's Yeti Hunt sounds like a blast.

Overwatch's festively themed Winter Wonderland event will return next week, Tuesday December 12th, Blizzard has announced. If enough of the Meis die, then the mode is over and Winston wins.
