Saif Ali Khan: Will shift Kaalakaandi release if Padmavati hits theatres

Saif Ali Khan is thankful to producers Cinestaan Film Company for backing Kaalakaandi and releasing it in theatres.

Talking to Mid-Day, Khan said, "If Padmavati comes in (on that day), we will think of shifting our release date. I think when we get close to that release, it will be like my film releasing". "Kaalakaandi is a film I am proud of".

Kaalakaandi is slated to release on January 12, 2018. However, Saif Ali Khan has said that if Bhansali's controversial magnum opus hits the theaters in January, the makers of Kaalakaandi will have shift things around. "I'll keep working and hopefully, things will fall into place", Saif said. I get my confidence back every time, irrespective of whether my film works or not.

In a recent media interaction, Saif Ali Khan revealed that he is okay with the idea of films releasing together and it only shows diversity. I don't want to be anxious about anything as long as I have integrity and I am working hard. He feels they could have sold it to be released in another medium. After the release date of Padmavati was deferred, Kapil Sharma's Firangi was also postponed by a week and Richa Chadha's Fukrey Returns was pulled ahead to release on 8 December.

He was quick to add, "But filmmakers are wary about it and you need to take that into consideration". Apart from being rather trippy, the trailer also smells super duper fun, partly because Akshat Verma, who is the screenwriter of the very popular Delhi Belly, writes and directs this too. I also don't think it was even publicized correctly.

Saif Ali Khan, lastly, talked about the Dil Chahta Hai reference in Chef where his character mentions that he had visited Goa with his friends 20 years ago.
