Kamara was asked to sum up his play against the Panthers.

The New Orleans Saints defeated the Carolina Panthers 31-21 on Sunday at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome to take sole possession of first place in the NFC South. Carolina converted only 3-of-10 third downs including just one third down conversion in the second half of the game.

Six plays later, New Orleans scored on Drew Brees' 10-yard pass to Michael Thomas for a 21-7 lead.

McCown finished with 331 yards passing and a touchdown to Matt Forte, and ran for two scores.

With the win, the Saints improved to 9-3 and concluded the season sweep of the Panthers, having won 34-13 in a Week 3 meeting in Charlotte.

In the fourth quarter, another Carolina special teams gaff - a fumble by punt returner Kaelin Clay - near midfield set up Wil Lutz's 31-yard field goal to give New Orleans a 31-14 lead.

Carolina produced only 12 third-quarter yards, but threatened early in the fourth quarter, moving the ball to New Orleans' 7-yard line (a 28-yard pass interference call helped their efforts). Newton connected with Funchess, who was stopped a yard short by cornerback Ken Crawley.

Moments after losing their first game in more than a month, the Carolina Panthers echoed a similar message. Kamara needs three touchdowns to break George Rogers' rookie franchise record of 13.

Brees moved into second place on the NFL's all-time completions list with a 32-yard strike to Thomas.

Meanwhile, Kamara's 614 yards receiving and 606 yards rushing this season make him one of only three rookies in NFL history to have at least 600 yards as both a runner and receiver, joining Pro Football Hall of Famer Charley Taylor and Billy Sims.

PACKERS 26, BUCCANEERS 20: Aaron Jones' 20-yard touchdown run on his only carry, with 5:59 left in overtime, gave Green Bay (6-6) a win over visiting Tampa Bay (4-8).

RUSHING-Carolina, Newton 6-51, Stewart 11-45, McCaffrey 6-16.
