John is in "good spirits" following the surgery, according to a spokesperson.

Yesterday afternoon, Dead & Company were forced to postpone that night's show in New Orleans due to an emergency appendectomy surgery for John Mayer.

Likewise, drummer Mickey Hart wished Mayer well. It remains unclear whether Mayer will be able to play those shows, though the band has yet to make a formal announcement regarding the status of either gig. Information on the new dates will be announced soon and all tickets will be honored for those performances. However, the scheduled performance of Dead & Company at Orlando's Amway Center (400 W. Church St.) set for tomorrow, December 7, has been postponed.

The guitarist was rushed to the hospital Tuesday morning for an emergency appendectomy that resulted in the postponement of the remainder of Dead & Company's fall tour, including stops in New Orleans, Orlando and Ft.

Ok, first thing's first: Everyone in Dead & Company is still alive. Ticketholders can also seek a refund at point of purchase. His publicity team shared that the Tuesday show, as well as the two remaining Florida shows, will be rescheduled.
