Wind advisory for much of Tuesday, maybe snow by the weekend

A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of at least 30 miles per hour or gusts of at least 50 miles per hour are expected.

Tuesday night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 25.

Initially, the stronger southerly wind is affecting travel on east-west roadways, but by later Monday, north-south roads may become hard to navigate, said NWS.

Tuesday night... Partly cloudy with a low around 28.

Today: Sunny, with a high near 47.

Thursday night: Partly cloudy, low around 14.

Strong wind gusts will be widespread today. After a diminished period Monday evening, winds will shift west and increase to 20 - 35mph with gusts to around 45mph overnight into Tuesday afternoon.

Tuesday Night: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before midnight, then a slight chance of showers. Saturday morning snow showers may be a bit heavier and lay down a quick coating.

Friday: A 30 percent chance of snow after noon, high near 27.

Wednesday: Sunny with a high near 52.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 41.

Saturday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 26.

The 65-degree high recorded at O'Hare International Airport on Monday was just 1 degree shy of the record for the date, set in 1998. When Wake Up started at 4:30, many areas were still in the middle 50s, but 40s have already started moving in and they'll continue to spread eastward through the morning.
