Saleh's son calls for revenge Saudi media

President Donald Trump is calling on Saudi Arabia to end its Yemen blockade immediately, citing humanitarian concerns.

He said Yemenis "desperately need it".

This week, the conflict entered an uncertain new phase when the Houthi rebels killed their one-time ally, former Yemeni president Ali Abdullah Saleh.

On Monday, Leader of Yemen's Ansarullah movement, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, said the movement has managed to thwart a major threat to the country's security by defeating the plot hatched by former president, Saleh, and his militia.

A video circulating on social media showed fully-veiled women chanting "The people want the martyr's body".

Armed militiamen unfurled a blanket containing the body and shouted, "praised God!".

However, close sources have denied the reports that Saleh was killed.

The sudden and exceedingly violent fighting between the main Yemeni opposition factions seems to be coming to a halt, according to United Nations officials, who say that the capital city of Sanaa was largely silent Tuesday after five days of fighting.

Earlier in the day, Yemen's Interior Ministry issued a statement confirming the death of Saleh during clashes in capital Sana'a.

Under worldwide pressure, Saudi Arabia partially lifted the blockade, and the first aid shipments since the blockade arrived last week.

Mr Beasley told CBS: " "I don't think there's any question the Saudi-led coalition, along with the Houthis and all of those involved, are using food as a weapon".

Dr. Hadi al-Yami, the former chairman of the Arab Human Rights Committee, said that current events in Yemen clearly illustrate suffering. It will not be like the starvation which cost 250,000 people their lives in Somalia in 2011.

The World Health Organisation has also confirmed that the country is facing a massive cholera outbreak, particularly affecting children; almost a million reported cases are expected by the end of the year.
