Jio effect: Airtel Rs. 399 plan with 1GB data per day now with 70 days validity

Earlier this week, telecom operator Airtel revised its prepaid plans priced at ₹448 and ₹509 to compete with telecom operators like Vodafone and Jio. Similarly, its Rs. 509 pack now offers 91-day validity, up from the previous 84 days. With the new Rs. 399 pack, Airtel is now offering 1GB data per day, unlimited voice calls - local, STD, and roaming, 100 SMSs per day for all handset users. This is similar to Reliance Jio's recently launched Happy New Year 2018 pack that provides 1.2GB 4G data on a daily basis at the same price of Rs. 199 with 28 days validity period.

Previously, Airtel offered 1GB 3G/ 4G data per day along with the other benefits for a validity of 28 days. Both the packs offer unlimited calls, 100 SMSs per day for 28 days.

Airtel on Monday had revised its plans to offer validity of 82 days with the Rs. 448 plan, up from 70 days.

Data Plans of Jio - The 198 plan of Jio is the first plan that offers 1.5GB daily data. The former comes with a validity of 54 days, while the latter comes with 81 days of validity.

Vodafone offers 1GB 4G/3G data per day at Rs 509. This pack also features unlimited calls and 100 SMS daily. Plan 448 of Jio offers 126GB data for a period of 84 days and plan 498 of Jio offers 136GB data for 91 days. And as far as pricing is concerned, Jio offers the plan at the cheapest price against its two older rivals of Airtel and Voadone.

The price war between Airtel and Reliance Jio is still on... The data offered, just as that of Airtel and Jio, is 3G/4G. Under the plan, a customer will get talk time of Rs 103 with calls to other BSNL numbers at 0.15 per minute and calls to other networks at 0.40 per minute along with a personal ring back tone for 28 days. Vodafone has increased the validity of the plan from 70 days to 84 days.
