Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze Brings the Chill to Nintendo Switch in May

Part of the way Nintendo achieved this was by porting games from the Wii U over to the Switch, as it did with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Pokken Tournament DX.

Nintendo has announced that two Wii U games will find new life on Nintendo Switch.

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze served as the follow-up to Wii's Donkey Kong Country Returns, releasing for the console in 2014. Later, Nintendo released Hyrule Warriors Legends on 3DS, which featured additional characters from portable characters like Spirit Tracks and A Link Between Worlds.

The Switch version of the game will also provide local co-op multiplayer via Joy-Con controls.

The game features pretty much everything that you'd expect it to feature, being an nearly direct port from the Wii U version, but with one cool addition. The character has the ability to perform double jumps, hover, infinite rolls and infinite corkscrews.
