Flight of the Conchords Officially Returning for HBO Special

Are you ready for the return of Flight of the Conchords?

Bret McKenzie and Jermaine Clement will return to the premium cable network for an hour-long Flight of the Conchords comedy special in May, according to Entertainment Weekly.

An hourlong Flight of the Conchords comedy special is set to air on HBO this May.

The special event was officially announced today by Casey Bloys, president of HBO Programming.

The show comes nine years after the end of their self-titled TV show for the broadcaster ended after two seasons and 22 episodes. Taped live before a sold-out audience on the musical comedians' United Kingdom tour, the duo will perform new original songs, as well as many of their classics. The show was praised by critics and beloved by fans, turning the cult favorites into an global sensation.

The pair's Flight of the Conchords series ran for two seasons on HBO until 2009. Clement's film credits include the "Rio" movies (2011, 2014), "Men in Black 3" (2012) and "The BFG" (2016).

Hamish Hamilton will direct the special, with Clement and McKenzie executive producing alongside Mike Martinovich.
