Ejected Isaiah Thomas insists clothesline foul on Andrew Wiggins not intentional

Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Isaiah Thomas was fined $20,000 on top of his ejection after he stopped an Andrew Wiggins drive to the basket by leveling Wiggins with a forearm to the head.

"It's not like we played together in high school, or 'he's a cool kid and I'm a cool kid, let's be cool kids together, '" Crawford said, describing their friendship.

"I was in the gym and he had just came back from his honeymoon, and he's like, 'Call me ASAP.' He keeps calling me and I missed his calls", Crawford said. "I'm still a ways away from where I really want to be physically. I'm just glad [Dwyane] Wade looked out for me with the air ball".

Isaiah Thomas just made his Cleveland Cavaliers debut. "But at the same time, for me as a leader, we can't have lulls", Thomas said.

"I've got to figure out a better way to start the game off", he said. Even though it was his first outing in seven months, he was still highly effective for the Cavaliers.

Thomas says he and teammates know they all have to put in a little more work to turn the tide: "We change that, it's half the battle". There's going to be times where it looks awesome, there's going to be times where you're going to see some rust.

Meanwhile, the National Basketball Association said Miami Heat forward James Johnson and Toronto Raptors counterpart Serge Ibaka had been suspended for one game without pay for throwing punches at one another. Taj Gibson also posted a double-double netting 16 points and 13 rebounds while offseason acquisition, Jimmy Butler, posted 21 points, 9 assists and 8 rebounds.

Thomas may have summed it up best during his post-game interview, saying: "It was just one of those nights". "I wanted to go somewhere where they can kind of build up". He had scored nine points on 3-of-11 shooting before being tossed. We won't have to wait long to see if it paid dividends.

"I'm still trying to get back in the thick of things, getting my rhythm and getting everything back for me, individually".
