Mark Wahlberg Wouldn't Approve Christopher Plummer Until He Was Paid Over $1M For Reshoot
Those angered by reports that Mark Wahlberg was paid significantly more than co-star Michelle Williams on reshoots for All the Money in the World won't like this: the actor reportedly made sure he got paid a lot.
A source claimed: "What [Wahlberg] said was, 'I will not approve Christopher Plummer unless you pay me.' And that's how he f-- them".
According to two film interviewed by USA Today, Wahlberg had co-star approval in his contract, and refused to approve Plummer's casting in the film until he was paid a salary of over a million. Enter your information below for a chance to be featured in Parade's annual What People Earn issue.
Burke said the solidarity and the support behind Time's Up and #MeToo is something we've never seen before and that she's grateful to the actresses sharing their platforms to turn the spotlight back on survivors rather than perpetrators.
"... Formally vetoed the Oscar victor [Plummer] in a letter to financiers until his demand for additional payment was met". His agency WME had no comment.
This new development offers a new wrinkle to the previous reporting about this exorbitant pay gap situation.
Former underwear model Wahlberg was the highest-paid actor past year, pulling in a cool $68 million, according to Forbes.
Since the story broke that Wahlberg chose to use the #MeToo moment to profit from reshooting the film, The Wrap has reported that reshoots weren't in Wahlberg's contract while they were in Williams's.
Williams was reportedly unaware that Wahlberg was not working for free when the reshoot began, but her agents at William Morris Endeavour were well aware of his payday as they also represent both Wahlberg and Scott.
Both Scott and Williams have spoken about doing the reshoot for free, with Williams telling USA Today last month that she would even give up her Thanksgiving holiday for the reshoots. "Because I appreciated so much that they were making this massive effort".
