Oscar victor Michael Douglas has launched a preemptive strike - denying a woman's allegations that he not only masturbated in front of her but blackballed her from Hollywood.

Catherine Zeta-Jones husband, 73, has taken the bold step to sit down for a frank interview after a female ex-employee claimed he masturbated in front of her over 30 years go. And it was most certainly not masturbating in front of this woman.

The actor and producer told Deadline that it had been alleged that he "used colourful language" in front of the former employee; "spoke raunchily, or dirtily" with his friends in phone conversations that the woman overheard; "blackballed her from the industry and stopped her from getting another job" and engaged in a sexual act in front of her. Douglas also said that she claimed he fired her and then "blackballed her from the industry".

"I felt the need to get ahead of this. She was a lady who was involved in development at my company, and we just didn't have a good development record in the time she was there, so I just moved on", he said.

"I'm bewildered why, after 32 years, this is coming out, now".

"Please never ask me why I left the film/TV business", Sheedy tweeted after Franco got his Golden Globe. The reporter told me, 'she did say that you never harassed her, never touched her, ' and I said...okay. "This is a complete lie, fabrication, no truth to it whatsoever", Michael said of the allegation of sexual misconduct, adding that his head was "reeling". "So I didn't know where this comes from", Douglas explained.

Michael Douglas, pictured with his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones at a Lifetime Luminaries screening at NeueHouse Madison Square on November 30, 2017 in New York City, denies sexually harassing a former employee.

"The things that I heard that were on Twitter are not accurate, but I completely support people coming out and being able to have a voice because they didn't have a voice for so long", Franco said on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. The part that hurt the most is having to share something like this with your wife and your children. My kids are really upset...have to go to school worrying this is going to be in some article about me, being a sexual harasser. They're scared and very uncomfortable'. "Or, try to share with the public, a little ahead of the story, my thoughts and concerns", Douglas continued. Again, I am sorry if I used coarse language with my friends. It can have a large effect on my career. "But I'm going to continue the way I've always treated women, as equals and my peers".
