Balochistan governor will administer oath to the elected Chief Minister. Fourteen cabinet members also took the oath administered by the Balochistan governor. Except Zehri, all the remaining legislators also voted for Bizenjo. Durrani made the formal announcement after Bizenjo bagged 41 votes and Liaquat Agha 13.

He thanked the House for electing him as Leader of the House with an overwhelming majority.

Meanwhile, PkMAP chairman has announced to take action against MPA Manzoor Kakar for casting his vote against the party policy.

It merits a mention here that the third candidate Abdul Raheem Ziaratwal of Pakhtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party withdrew his nomination papers before the election process in favour of Syed Agha Liaquat Ali nominated by the same party. Addressing a joint news conference in Quetta, Deputy Opposition Leader in the provincial assembly, Engineer Zamruk Khan Achakzai along with other coalition partners hoped that the nominated Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo would establish peace and security in the province and address the public issues.

Who is new Balochistan CM? .

Retracing the steps of his father, who was thrice elected from Awaran, Bizenjo commenced his political career from his home town Shindi Jhao Awaran.

In PB-41, the turnout was 1.18 per cent, while only 672 people cast their vote. In 2008, he was re-elected on PML-Q's ticket and joined Nawab Aslam Raisani's cabinet as minister for livestock, successfully completing a five-year tenure.

During the Senate election in 2015, Speaker Jan Muhammad Jamali quit the ruling PML-N and tendered his resignation from his post just before a no-trust motion was tabled against him.

He was reportedly asked to resign ahead of the session to spare his party - the PML-N - further embarrassment after Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi failed to win over the disgruntled elements in the Balochistan Assembly.

Former chief ministers Sanaulla Zehri and Abdul Malik received 9421 votes and 4539 votes respectively during general elections.

A no-confidence motion was submitted against Zehri on January 2 by MPAs Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo and Syed Agha Raza and had the signatures of 14 lawmakers.
