The addition of Google Assistant with Insteon product helps customers to manage lighting inside their home or office irrespective of the device. AMAZON continues to dominate the category, as over two-thirds of smart speaker owners have an Echo, Dot or other Alexa-based product.

Incidentally, Dish already offers its own voice control remote. Your voice becomes a TiVo remote, but it won't be a TiVo Vox remote (the new microphone-equipped remote TiVo released last year).

Insteon has announced that their range of ultra-reliable connected home devices is now completely compatible with Google Assistant.

TiVo also announced an If This Then That (IFTTT) channel for its DVRs, which will further expand what you can do with your TiVo.

It also adds SMS and other text message support to the TiVo, letting you set up IFTTT recipes to display incoming text messages on your TV.

Obviously, the Google Assistant is running the show, so you can go ahead and watch videos on YouTube, ask questions or check the weather and much more.

And, across all your devices, the Google Assistant is making your home even smarter.

Launching at some point during the first half of 2018, you'll be able to control your Dish Network programming via Google Assistant through a Google Home speaker, Android device, and iPhone. After pairing, you will be able to voice control your Insteon devices simply by saying "OK Google" or "Hey Google" followed by commands such as "Turn on the outside lights" or "Turn off the downstairs lights".
